Swiggy 'Pawlice': A Heartwarming Initiative for Lost Pets

Date: April 12, 2024

Introducing Swiggy 'Pawlice': A Heartwarming Feature to Help Find Lost Pets

Swiggy, India's leading food delivery platform, has launched a groundbreaking feature named 'Swiggy Pawlice' aimed at helping distraught pet parents find their lost pets. This initiative utilizes Swiggy's extensive delivery network to create a community-driven search effort, demonstrating the company's commitment to social responsibility and animal welfare.

How Does It Work?

Swiggy Pawlice leverages the widespread presence of Swiggy's delivery partners to locate missing pets. Pet parents can report their missing animals directly through the Swiggy app by providing necessary details and photographs of their pets. Swiggy's delivery partners, who are often navigating through various neighborhoods, are then on the lookout for these missing pets.

Upon spotting a missing pet, a delivery partner can report the sighting to a dedicated team within Swiggy, specifying the location and any relevant details. This information is promptly relayed to the pet's owner, facilitating a reunion. Significantly, delivery partners are advised against trying to capture the pet themselves to avoid any risk of injury or further distress to the animal.

Aiding the Community and Encouraging Participation

This initiative not only showcases Swiggy's innovative approach to leveraging its network for social good but also encourages a sense of community among its users and delivery partners. Additionally, Swiggy celebrates the successful reunion of pets with their families by rewarding the delivery partners who contributed to the effort.

Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy Food Marketplace, shared his personal connection to the project, stating, "As a pet parent myself, I understand the anxiety and helplessness felt when a beloved pet goes missing. Swiggy Pawlice is our way of extending a helping hand to fellow pet parents in their time of need."

Swiggy's Paw-ternity Policy

In addition to Swiggy Pawlice, the company has also introduced a 'Paw-ternity Policy' for its employees. This policy provides various benefits for pet owners, including leave for pet adoption, veterinary care, and bereavement. It reflects Swiggy's recognition of the importance of pets in their employees' lives and its commitment to supporting them.

Swiggy's innovative approach towards integrating community service within its business model through the Pawlice initiative and Paw-ternity policy sets a commendable example for corporate social responsibility. It not only aids in the search for lost pets but also fosters a culture of empathy and support within the community it serves.
